SINOSSI
Sang è uno dei tanti bambini lasciati indietro dai soldati americani dopo la guerra del Vietnam – non voluto, discriminato e segnato da un conflitto che gli ha portato via ben più di un padre. Quando Sang ritrova inaspettatamente suo padre gravemente malato negli Stati Uniti, decide di incontrarlo, anche se ciò comporta un prezzo.
L’unico modo per realizzare questo desiderio è trasferirsi permanentemente negli Stati Uniti, lasciandosi alle spalle la sua amata moglie, la figlia e il nipote. In questa terra straniera, fatica a trovare il proprio posto – non solo in una società che lo vede come un estraneo, ma anche all’interno di una famiglia americana che non ha mai saputo della sua esistenza. Le barriere culturali si scontrano quando il passato riaffiora nel presente nei modi più inaspettati.

Sang is one of countless children left behind by American soldiers after the Vietnam War, unwanted, discriminated against, and scarred by a war that took more than just his father. When Sang unexpectedly locates his gravely ill father in the U.S., he becomes determined to meet him, even though it comes at a price. The only way to fulfill this need is to move to the U.S. permanently, leaving behind his beloved wife, daughter, and grandson. In this foreign land, he struggles to find his place—not only in a society that sees him as an outsider but also within an American family that never knew of his existence. Cultural barriers collide when the past catches up with the present in the least expected ways.
